About Me

My whole life, I have found myself drawn to creative construction in many forms. My mother is my favorite artist, and through my youth she often set my sister and I in front of a table of craft supplies to keep us busy and entertained.

This, along with a twice-a-month visit to the Portland Art Museum, awakened my love for the arts and the stories that can be told through swaths of paint, found material assemblage, cast bronze, layered paper, or manipulated textiles.

After graduating high school, I began working for Northwest Regional Outdoor Science School – an organization that introduces, and teaches to protect, the natural world to sixth graders in Oregon. Through this work, I learned that the Textile and Fashion industries are the 3rd leading cause of material waste, contributed primarily through Fast Fashion.

When I decided to pursue fashion as my artistic medium of choice, I promised myself to work sustainably in all I create. By using natural dyes, prioritizing deadstock or recycled base textiles, natural fibers, and committing myself to a “slow fashion” mindset, I have found a harmonious balance between my two driving forces: Conservation and Creation.

Attending Oregon State University's School of Business as an Apparel Design major with a personal focus on Sustainability has equipped me with valuable skills to realize my passion for fashion.
